Program Summary:
GMF’s Asia Program pursues the dual goals of developing common U.S.-European approaches to challenges emanating from Asia and building closer U.S.-Europe-Asia partnerships to strengthen the liberal international order at a time when it is increasingly contested. The program accomplishes these goals through research, commentary, conferences, and publications. Covering an expansive area — from the Hindu Kush to the Pacific — the program has region-wide projects as well as long-standing, signature initiatives related to China, India, Japan, and Taiwan.
Job Summary:
The Director, Asia Program is chiefly responsible for leadership, fundraising, and strategic and budget planning related to GMF’s Asia Program. In this capacity, the individual also serves at the primary point of contact with senior policymakers and other external partners. S/he is responsible for the quality and integrity of the program and contributes to the strategic direction of the broader organization as a member of GMF’s Leadership team.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
Proven management experience; at least 15 years of work experience in the foreign policy or national security fields, (prior government experience preferred); excellent communication skills; and expertise on Europe and Asia policy issues.
Education:
Graduate degree with appropriate regional or functional specialization.
